  • Title: Understanding Addiction Approaches to Drug Abuse Prevention

Abstract

The present study explores approaches to preventing drug abuse among individuals addicted to specific substances, behaviors, or patterns linked to life challenges and failures. The study categorizes addiction into two main types: A) Substance addiction and B) Non-substance (behavioral) addiction. Multiple risk factors contribute to the development of both forms, including a history of risk-taking behavior, genetic predisposition, and heightened vulnerability to stress. Addiction alters specific regions of the brain, particularly the dopaminergic system, which plays a key role in reward perception and reinforcement. These changes complicate recovery by reinforcing compulsive behaviors. Drug abuse is a multifaceted issue, shaped by a complex interaction of psychological, social, genetic, and environmental influences. A deep understanding of these underlying causes is essential for designing effective prevention and intervention strategies aimed at addressing the root drivers of addiction
