Tenured Professor and Director of Laboratory at the WHO Collaborative National Drug Dependence Treatment Center, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India—an internationally reputed hospital and research institute.

Educational Background:
PhD from Delhi University, India. Completed postdoctoral training in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.

Honors & Awards:
Invited as a keynote speaker at addiction meetings and conferences. Recipient of the International Visiting Exchange Faculty/Scientist Award from NIDA, during which work was conducted at the University of Pennsylvania. Awarded the Distinguished International Scientist Collaborative Award (DISCA) by NIDA, with research work carried out at LSUHSC, Louisiana. Chaired scientific sessions on “Addiction” at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) meetings from 2002 to 2012. Received a UN Fellowship for advanced training in addiction at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Served as Visiting Professor at Rutgers University and the University of Iowa. Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemists (C.Chem, FRSC, London). Elected to the Board of Directors for the Asia Pacific Society for Alcohol and Addiction Research (APSAAR) and invited by Japan to represent India in formulating the bylaws of APSAAR. Elected as a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences in India (MNAMS). Nominated as an honorary member of the Board of Directors by the Scientific Council of Skibbereen University, UK. Recipient of Best Paper awards and elected to the Research Board of Advisers of the American Biographical Institute (ABI).
